Dear Future Host Family,

Hello! My name is Riyan, but you can call me Ian or Ryan. I am 20 years old and come from Indonesia. ????

I would describe myself as a cheerful, fun-loving, and friendly person who enjoys making people laugh and trying new things. One of my biggest interests is sports and outdoor activities. I enjoy playing basketball, badminton, and soccer, as well as cycling and jogging. I also have basic swimming skills. During high school, I participated in soccer and badminton extracurricular activities. I also participated in an inter-year basketball competition during my second semester at university. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of teamwork, communication, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Besides sports, I love exploring nature and going on adventures. I have successfully reached the summits of two mountains in Central Java, Indonesia! For me, being outdoors is a great way to find peace, enjoy beautiful scenery, and challenge myself. I love staying active and discovering new places, and I would be excited to share my enthusiasm for sports and outdoor activities with your children through fun games, playing ball together, cycling, and enjoying nature in safe and age-appropriate ways.

I also have experience taking care of children because I often help my mother look after my younger siblings. I have helped my seven-year-old sister with her homework, kept her company, listened to her stories, and spent time playing with her. I enjoy spending time with children, and I believe that taking care of them is not only about helping with their daily needs but also about making them feel safe, supported, and comfortable expressing themselves.

I want to become an au pair because I am excited to experience a different culture, learn new skills, meet people from different backgrounds, and become more independent. At the same time, I would love to share Indonesian culture with your family, introduce you to our traditions, and perhaps cook some Indonesian dishes for you!

My hope is to become more than just an au pair. I want to be a warm, caring, and reliable big brother to your children—someone they can talk to, learn from, laugh with, and have fun with. Whether we are playing sports, enjoying outdoor activities, doing homework, or simply talking about their day, I want them to feel that they have someone they can trust and rely on.

I understand that every child has their own personality, interests, and needs. I am willing to learn from your family, adapt to your routines, and do my best to create a positive and supportive environment for your children.
